Education:

2009-2014. Ph.D. Zoología. Programa de Postgrado en Biociencias, Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Brasil.

2007. Máster en Gestión y Conservación de la Biodiversidad en los Trópicos. Universidad San Pablo, España.

1999-2005. Biólogo. Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia.

Research:

Evolution, Phylogenetic &  Systematics of Amphibians.

Areas of Interest:

My research interests are focused on biodiversity, evolution and systematics of Neotropical amphibians and their direct connection with conservation biology. Specifically, my aims are to integrate a molecular perspective, morphological and behavioral evidence to address goals such as: Proposing evolutionary scenarios of the relationships between species, evaluating different operational criteria for establishing species boundaries, describing aspects of natural history that will assist in understanding different evolutionary attributes, and understanding patterns of species distribution as a mechanism of speciation.
